Censorship in the Welsh media

The latest issue of the investigative website Rebecca includes disturbing accounts of two incidents in which the public were prevented from seeing TV programmes with a strong and clear public interest.

In each case, ITV Wales decided not to broadcast programmes researched by the Wales This Week team.  One involved the Welsh Rugby Union and the other the broadcaster regulator, Ofcom.

Paddy French, editor of Rebecca and a former member of the Wales This Week team, spills the beans in A Licence to Censor (see TV censorship).

It will be interesting to see what impact his revelations have on people still occupying powerful positions in Welsh public life.
